Design Area: 47th Streets from Loomis Boulevard to Hoyne Avenue, and Ashland Avenue from 43rd Street to 49th Street
Project Description
The scope of this CDOT-led project includes streetscape improvements on 47th Street, Loomis to Hoyne and on Ashland, 43rd Street to 49th Street. The project will provide safe, walkable, and attractive streets that will foster community and economic growth. This effort will support the City’s initiative to re-activate neighborhood cores that have historically served as focal points for pedestrian activity, shopping, services, transportation, public spaces and quality-of-life amenities for local residents.
Ashland Avenue Construction:
The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) in coordination with the local Alderman are pleased to announce the start of the Ashland Avenue Improvement. Please use the link below to view the construction flyer which has additional information.
Construction Start – Section 1 – Ashland Ave 43rd ST to 49th St: May 2023
Construction Start – Section 2 – 47th ST Hoyne to Loomis and Ashland 46th St to 48th St : Spring/Summer 2024
Construction Completion – Anticipated Fall 2025
Construction Meetings will be held weekly. These will be a hybrid in person/ remote access meeting. The public is welcome to attend to ask questions, discuss concerns and find out what is happening next! The meetings will be weekly on Wednesdays at 10:00 am.
