Project Description
The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) will improve safety and access for students traveling to and from school on foot, by bike, or on transit by installing targeted improvements around ten high schools and elementary schools citywide starting in the summer of 2017. Treatments, which vary by school, include pedestrian refuge islands, speed feedback signs, sidewalk rehabilitation, high visibility crosswalk markings, pedestrian countdown timers, and other improvements to the public way.
