Safety improvements are coming to Milwaukee Avenue between North Avenue and Campbell Avenue that will make the street safer and more inviting for everyone — no matter how you get around — and improve neighborhood access to local businesses.
- Concrete protected bike lanes will separate people biking from people driving and increase the safety of everyone on the street.
- Improved CTA bus stops will help improve bus operations and provide more space for transit users.
- Reduced crossing distance and increased visibility for people crossing Milwaukee, including: pedestrian refuge island and upgraded curb bumpouts.
- Improved connections to the Bloomingdale Trail for people walking and biking.
On June 27th, CDOT partnered with 32nd Ward Ald. Scott Waguespack to introduce the project to the community.
