Project construction will proceed during winter months, weather permitting. Due to the slower progress of construction, project construction meetings will held every OTHER Thursday at 9:30 am via Teams starting January 18th.
Weekly meetings will restart once construction work can be regularly scheduled in the spring of 2024. Please check the 40th Ward’s website above for more information.
Project Description
The second phase of the Lawrence Avenue streetscape project will extend the streetscape from Western to the Chicago River and will build upon the success of the first section of the Lawrence Avenue streetscape. Construction has begun and is anticipated to be completed in the summer of 2024.
This project aims to improve safety for all users, upgrade aging infrastructure, create a livable street, increase walkability, and support economic development.
