Roseland: South Michigan Avenue & 111th Street Corridor Improvements

Project description:
The scope of this CDOT-led project includes streetscape improvements on Michigan Avenue, 110th Street to 116th Street and 111th Street, Stewart Avenue to MLK. The project will provide safe, walkable, and attractive streets that will foster community and economic growth.  This effort will support the City’s initiative to re-activate neighborhood cores that have historically served as focal points for pedestrian activity, shopping, services, transportation, public spaces and quality-of-life amenities for local residents.

Status:
Section 1: S. Michigan Ave, 110th Street to 116th Street in design. Anticipated construction 2024
Section 2: 111th Street, Stewart Ave to MLK in design. Anticipated construction 2025.

Project Principles

The Project Vision and Principles were developed based on discussions and feedback CDOT has received regarding the South Michigan Avenue & 111th Street Corridor Improvements project.  The Vision and Principles will help guide the project throughout the design process.
