Bike Parking

Bike Parking

The City of Chicago has installed 17,000 public bike racks & over 80 on-street bike corrals. Additionally, businesses and developers have installed thousands of bike parking locations through ordinance (17-10-0300 Bicycle Parking).

Since 1993, the City's Bike Parking Program has had an annual goal of installing hundreds of racks each year. CDOT does this by pursuing local and federal funds, proactively identifying potential rack locations, and soliciting ideas for racks from the public.
